M2 EQUITYBITES-January 18, 2019-Rambus Acquires Diablo Technologies Memory Technology Assets

18 January 2019 - California, US-based technology company Rambus Inc. (NASDAQ: RMBS) has acquired the assets of Canada-based software company Diablo Technologies to broaden its portfolio in the hybrid DRAM and Flash memory markets, the company said.

Specific terms of the deal are not disclosed.

The patented innovations of Diablo augment the existing Rambus NVDIMM portfolio and complement its high-bandwidth, low-power memory technologies.

Expanding emerging memory technology for high memory bandwidth interfaces is key to Rambus' strategic core business. The company has also been collaborating with IBM to research hybrid memory systems.

Rambus' investment in these technology areas provide a foundation for integrating existing DRAM and Flash along with emerging memories into advanced hybrid memory systems in the future.

Rambus Inc. is an American technology company that designs, develops and licenses chip interface technologies and architectures that are used in digital electronics products.

Diablo Technologies develops solid-state storage devices for data-intensive applications. Diablo Technologies was a pioneer in the development of NVDIMM technologies for high-speed, low-power, and low-latency bridging and switching products targeted at the server and storage markets.
