Raise a glass to dog Cassie.

A DOG who gave her name to a Midland brewery has died at the age of 17.

Cassie provided the inspiration for her owner Jim Kenyon when he set up the Spinning Dog Brewery in Hereford.

Jim turned his hand to beer making after leaving the Army and chose the name because of Cassie's habit of chasing her tail when she was a puppy.

But she will live on because Jim plans to brew a commemorative bottled beer in his pet's memory. It will be available from next month.
