RailPower Awarded Texas R&D Funding for Hybrid Locomotive.

RailPower Technologies Corporation recently announced it has been notified by the Texas Emissions Reduction Program (TERP) that the company's application for a new technology research and development (NTRD) grant has been selected to receive funding.

According to RailPower, the grant, which is subject to finalization of contract documentation, is for the development of one pre-production branch line hybrid locomotive for use in Texas.

RailPower noted that the NTRD program provides incentives to encourage and support research, development and commercialization of technologies that reduce pollution in Texas.
