Raidtec launches 800MB/s SAN Storage Array, FibreArray 2208.
Raidtec Corporation has announced the release of its 800MB/s "No Single Point of Failure" SAN Storage Array, FibreArray 2208. The array is the latest addition to the 2 Gigabit end-to-end Fibre Channel family of products, launched by Raidtec earlier this year.FibreArray 2208 is a SAN Storage Array with Dual Active Active RAID controllers for end-to-end Fibre Channel No Single Point of Failure SANs. No Single Point of Failure SANs provide the high availability, scalable capacity and performance, as well as multi-site capability required for 24x7 mission critical environments. FibreArray 2208 comes as standard with eight 2 Gbit FC ports. Typically the array is configured with 4 ports for host connect and 4 ports for drive connections. Alternatively, 6 ports can be used for host connectivity, thus eliminating the need for a switch in a six workgroup SAN, or six direct attached servers may be connected. In larger configurations the FibreArray 2208 can support up to 256 servers connected through Director class FC switches.

FibreArray 2208 offers scalability, redundancy, high availability and flexibility as well as superior price performance.

Raidtec also provides a range of Storage Management Software compatible with FibreArray 2208. FC Access provides secure SAN volume management, LUN masking, LUN sharing and SAN firewall feature. SANfinity manages multiple FibreArray 2208 arrays from a single console and adds Array Virtualisation at Storage system level. SANfinity DSP allows monitoring and alert notification from Enterprise Network Management platforms including Tivoli Netview, HP Openview, Intel LANdesk, CA Unicenter TNG. FC-DualPath provides complete path failover for W2K and NT servers with multiple host bus adaptors. Raidtec's SNAZ SV provides snapshot, remote replication and SAN multiple array virtualisation and striping.
The FibreArray 2000 product family also includes the 2Gb FibreArray 2002 JBOD, the FibreArray 2104 SAN Storage Array and the FibreRAID SAN Storage Controller.
FibreArray 2208, 2002 JBOD & FibreArray 2104 are available to order immediately. Base configuration price starts at $34,000.
