Raider's fake gun robbery terror.

A man wielding an imitation weapon tried to rob a takeaway.

He went into the Curry Garden shop, on Coatsworth Road, Bensham, Gateshead, on Sunday, carrying the imitation firearm. He threatened a male customer and demanded money before making off empty handed.

The would-be robber was aged between 20 and 30, of stocky build and wore a hooded top. The offence took place at around 11.30pm.
