Ragin' Cajuns hold off Oregon.

LAFAYETTE, La. - Haley Hayden hit a three-run single in the second inning, and No. 7 Louisiana-Lafayette held on for a 5-4 victory over No. 6 Oregon in a nonconference softball game Saturday.

The Ragin' Cajuns won two of the three games in the early-season showdown between Top 10 teams. The teams split their two games Friday night.

Louisiana-Lafayette's Lexie Elkins hit a solo home run in the top of the first to give the Ragin' Cajuns a 1-0 lead, but Nikki Udria homered in the bottom of the inning to tie the score at 1-1, but Hayden hit her double.

After Hayden's go-ahead single, DJ Sanders added an RBI single in the third to make it 5-1 when Oregon began its comeback.

Udria scored Sammie Puentes on a sacrifice fly in the third, and Coral Kosta scored Alyssa Gillespie with a single later in the inning to make it 5-3.

Gillespie scored on a wild pitch in the fifth to make it a one-run game, but Oregon was stymied from there.

Alex Stewart (5-0) scattered eight hits to earn the complete-game victory for the Ragin' Cajuns, striking out four and walking none. Cheridan Hawkins didn't get out of the third inning, allowing five earned runs and took the loss.

Udria had two hits for Oregon. Elkins had two hits for Louisiana-Lafayette.

Later Saturday, Oregon got a complete-game one-hitter from Geri Ann Glasco to earn an 8-0 victory over Central Arkansas. Glasco struck out six and walked two.

Udria, Lauren Lindvall and Jenna Lilley had two hits each for the Ducks (7-3), and Janelle Lindvall hit a three-run home run.

Beavers sweep pair in Nevada tourney

HENDERSON, Nev. - Bev Miller took a no-hitter into the sixth inning and Lovie Lopez had four hits to lead Oregon State to an 11-2 victory over UC Davis at the DeMarini Classic softball tournament Saturday.

Natalie Hampton had three hits and drove in three runs and Madison Anthony had three hits and drove in three runs for the Beavers (8-1), who also got three RBIs from Lopez. Shelby Weeks added two hits for OSU, which had 17 hits in the victory.

Earlier Saturday, Hampton hit two home runs to lead Oregon State to a 4-3 victory over Wichita State.

Hampton drove in three runs for the Beavers.
