Racing: Get into the Rhythm.

Byline: Argus

RUSSIAN RHYTHM is hardly an original selection but it is very hard to get away from her chances in the Betfair Cheveley Park Stakes at Newmarket today.

Sir Michael Stoute's daughter of Kingmambo was hugely impressive when maintaining her unbeaten record in the Lowther Stakes at York in August and she is already a warm order for the Sagitta 1000 Guineas.

That is not surprising considering the way she had to overcome a very troubled passage to win on the Knavesmire, having to be snatched up by Kieren Fallon when a `gap' on the inside rail closed.

Her chance looked to have gone but she showed her class to come again and win cosily in the end from Danaskaya, who reopposes today.

In all she has three victories to her name in a perfect record and had little trouble in landing the Princess Margaret at Ascot on King George day.

This is her sternest task to date but she certainly appears well up to the task in hand.

Stoute's old adversary Henry Cecil had his first winner for a while on the Rowley Mile on Wednesday and his highly-rated Tom's Cruising can follow up for the yard in the EBF Further Flight Classified Stakes.

He made his debut in a maiden won by Mahroos at this track which has worked out extremely well and Cecil's son of Fraam was not at all troubled to hack up by five lengths on his subsequent start at Newcastle.

Runner-up that day was Dexterity, who himself gave that form a boost when obliging at Nottingham on Monday.

He is by far the most unexposed in today's field and at this stage could be anything.

Blinkers have brought a new lease of life to Patavellian and Roger Charlton's fouryear-old can land a hat-trick for his in-from yard in the Links Handicap.

A chance is taken on Mutakarrim in the opening Fishpools Furnishings Godolphin Stakes as likely favourite Storming Home seems to have developed his own ideas about the game in recent times.

Dermot Weld is a shrewd operator and the booking of Kieren Fallon for his recent Listowel Listed race runnerup looks significant and he has winning form to his name on quick ground.
