Racing legend's pounds 3m will.

SCOTS motor racing legend John Romanes has left pounds 3.6 million in his will. The 79-year-old, who helped build the Ingliston racing circuit near Edinburgh, died earlier this year after a long illness.

His wife Doris, 78, will inherit his pounds 3,602,134 fortune, amassed through his family business and motorsports ventures.

And she has pledged that some of the money will continue to help Scottish motorsports.

Doris added: ``He was a philanthropist and always tried to help people whenever he could.

``It is early yet and details haven't been discussed but I am sure he would be proud to continue helping people even after his death.''

Romanes was a founding member of the Scottish Motor Racing Club and last year received an award, named after racing legend Jackie Stewart, to mark nearly 50 years as a member.
