Racing: South Atlantic.

South Atlantic has the bookies all at sea as a gamble on the Sir Michael Stoute colt has seen him promoted to the head of the market for the Tote Trifecta Stakes at Ascot on Saturday with the 'big three'.

Two leading contenders, the John Gosden-trained Desert Opal and Fremen, a stable companion of South Atlantic, are not certain to line-up, meaning a massive gamble has taken place on Saturday's Showcase Handicap over seven furlongs.

South Atlantic, who won his last race at Newmarket in July, is now favourite at a best-priced 7-1. Ayr Gold Cup hero Quito has been supported into 8-1, along with Royal Millennium, although Coral offer just 7-1 about David Chapman's charge.
