Racing: SHA TIN.

EAST meets west in the big Orient Express v Flying Scotsman clash in the Champions Mile at Sha Tin this morning.

Early risers will be able to see the pride of Hong Kong, Silent Witness, bidding to stretch his unbeaten run to 18 against Mark Johnston's Attraction and 11 other rivals. Attraction is 9-2 with William Hill behind 4-9 shot Silent Witness.

Spokesman David Hood said: 'There has been tremendous speculation about this event and I think punters around the world will be glued to their TV sets to see the race.

'There is no doubt Silent Witness is a phenomenal horse, but tackling a mile for the first time could expose a chink in his armour and British punters hold Attraction in the highest regard.'

The going is currently good and Deirdre Johnston said: 'We are getting very nervous!

'There are 13 runners and she's drawn three but Silent Witness has got No.1 which is the inside so he's got the best draw for him
