Racing: Injury scare for Frankie.

FRANKIE DETTORI was taken to hospital for X-rays on an ankle injury at Happy Valley in Hong Kong today, but is expected to be fit to partner Falbrav in the Hong Kong Cup on Sunday.

Dettori hurt himself when dismounting from Champion Speed who was pulled up in the opening leg of the International Jockeys' Championship .

Dettori (above) was taken to the nearby Queen Mary Hospital, where it was confirmed he had twisted his right ankle.

Larry Wong, chief executive of the Hong Kong Jockey Club, said: "It looks like Frankie will be able to ride on Sunday."

And Falbrav's trainer Luca Cumani was equally optimistic saying: "I am at the races and saw it happen. I have spoken to Frankie, he should be okay," he said.

At Newbury, Nicky Henderson celebrated his 53rd birthday by saddling Mighty Strong and Maharbal to win.
