RUNNING SCARED; Jogger 'threatened' by man waving fists shouting: 'I'm going to kill you'.

A MAN has been jumping out and threatening users of a cycle path.

People have been approached by the bald man seen shaking his fists and shouting "I'm going to get you... I'm going to kill you" on the Lon Las Menai track near Caernarfon.

Eryri Harriers athlete Alun Vaughan told the Daily Post he was left shaken after being "threatened" by a man on the path while he was out on a run.

Mr Vaughan, 36, a postman from Llanberis, said: "I was out running at 7pm from Y Felinheli to Caernarfon on the cycle track.

"When I reached Morrisons in Caernarfon there was this man having an argument with three other people. He didn't have a top on at the time."

On his way back to Y Felinheli he saw the same man again, alone on the path: "He had a coat on and he was shouting to himself - 'I'm going to get you. I'm going to kill you'.

"As I got closer to him he must have noticed me because just before I approached him, he turned round with his fists into the middle of the cycle path."

Mr Vaughan took evasive action, left the path and ran up to the main road. "Another man was behind me saying he'd also seen the man," he added.

North Wales Police confirmed officers are investigating reports of a man acting suspiciously on the track.

Mr Vaughan urged anyone using the path to be "vigilant" and avoid the man, who he described as being about 5ft 7in tall and in his 30s.

He added: "Other people have spoken to me saying they've had a problem on the track. I won't be running down the cycle track for a while. It did scare me - I felt really threatened. I just want to warn people to be vigilant so this doesn't happen again."

A police spokeswoman said: "We received reports of a man behaving suspiciously on the Lon Las Menai path and cycle track at Griffiths Crossing, near Caernarfon at 8.33pm on Wednesday."

Anyone with information is asked to contact police on 101.
