RUGBY UNION: Wood plans an English ambush.

Byline: ORLA BANNON

KEITH Wood has vowed Ireland are out to spoil England's Grand Slam party today.

Ireland's Grand Slam hopes evaporated with defeat in Murrayfield last month, but the captain says the players are fired up to finish on a memorable note.

"There's a considerable blast of pressure on us to do that. We need to play to our absolute best and for England to have an off-day, but we are capable of winning."

Clive Woodward is under huge pressure to deliver after final day defeats in 1999 and 2000 cost England the Grand Slam crown.

He said: "No-one remembers teams who win championships. They only remember teams who win Grand Slams. We have to do it this time."
