RUGBY UNION: Southam ready to take the next step.

RUNNERS-UP Southam have been promoted from Midlands Four West (South) along with champions Ledbury.

The ups and downs for next season throughout the Midlands were settled after last Saturday's final promotion play-off between North One runners- up Hull Ionians and Walsall, whose defeat means that they remain in Midlands One.

But with only one side - Whitchurch - dropping back into the Midlands leagues from National Three North, Banbury moving down from Midlands One into Midlands Two (East) and no relegation from Midlands Three West (South), the knock-on effect on Warwickshire clubs is minimal and Southam go up without facing a play-off.
