RUFFOLO PUBLIC RELATIONS OPENS NEW SPORTS BROADCASTING DIVISION; COMPANY SET TO BROADCAST NCAA VOLLEYBALL ON 50,000-WATT SPORTS RADIO

 LAGUNA NIGUEL, Calif., April 19 /PRNewswire/ -- Ruffolo Public Relations has expanded its sports marketing and broadcast services with the opening of Ruffolo Communications, a new sports marketing division.
 Ruffolo Communications will produce, and company President Jeff Ruffolo will call the play-by-play action of the three-day Mountain Pacific Sports Federation (MPSF) Men's Volleyball Championships from UC Irvine's Bren Center starting April 28.
 The MPSF Division Championship will feature No. 1 ranked UCLA Bruins against No. 2 ranked Stanford Cardinal on Wednesday, April 28, with the winner earning an automatic berth to the NCAA Final Four May 7 and 8. Also slated for broadcast are the Friday MPSF Semi- Final and the Saturday MPSF Tournament Championship matches. All MPSF radio broadcasts begin at 7 p.m. (PDT).
 Ruffolo Communications will also produce, and company President Ruffolo will call the play-by-play action of the 1993 National Collegiate Men's Volleyball Championship from UCLA's Pauley Pavilion. Semi-final action will be broadcast on Friday, May 7 at 8 p.m. with the National Championship match slated for a live Saturday, May 8, 7:30 p.m. broadcast.
 All post-season NCAA radio men's volleyball broadcasts will be carried live on 50,000-watt, all-sports radio AM 840 KVEG, Las Vegas. KVEG's evening signal covers 11 western states, including the major metropolitan markets of Los Angeles, Portland, Ore., Boise, Idaho, San Diego, Orange County, Calif., Sacramento, Calif., Seattle, Salt Lake City and Vancouver, British Columbia. More than 5 million people are expected to listen during the five post-season volleyball broadcasts.
 League members competing during the MPSF Championship Tournament include 1992 defending national champion Pepperdine University, UCLA, Stanford, Brigham Young University, Long Beach State, Cal State Northridge, San Diego State and USC.
 During 1992, Ruffolo called the play-by-play action of more than 73 men's and women's Brigham Young University volleyball matches for AM 1400 KSRR Radio, Provo, Utah, and 1230 AM KMGR Radio, Salt Lake City, and the 1992 World League Men's Volleyball Championships from Genoa, Italy -- USA vs. Italy, USA vs. Holland -- for the Cable Radio Network.
