RUBBERMAID MANAGEMENT TRANSITION COMPLETED

 WOOSTER, Ohio, Sept. 14 /PRNewswire/ -- Rubbermaid Incorporated (NYSE: RBD) today announced that its top management transition has been completed.
 The board of directors elected Chief Executive Officer Wolfgang R. Schmitt as chairman of the board. Schmitt had previously shared the chairman title with Stanley C. Gault.
 The board also elected Charles A. Carroll as president and chief operating officer and to membe/rship on the board of directors. His most recent position was executive vice president of Rubbermaid and president of the Home Products Division. Carroll will serve as acting general manager of the Home Products Division for an interim period.
 In further action, the Board elected Gary S. Baughman an executive vice president of Rubbermaid. Baughman continues as president and general manager of The Little Tikes Company.
 In announcing these changes, Schmitt stated, "Chuck Carroll achieved consistently high performance in the general management of two Rubbermaid divisions. His 22 years of Rubbermaid experience through various business cycles provide an excellent background for leading the divisions in the business environment of the 90s. "Gary Baughman," Schmitt continued, "has led Little Tikes to exceptional performance levels and has positioned them well for continued, sustainable success."
