RTD TO PRESENT CONCEPTUAL MASTER PLAN FOR WESTLAKE/MACARTHUR PARK
JOINT DEVELOPMENT AT METRO RED LINE STATION ON MONDAY, MARCH 9
LOS ANGELES, March 2 /PRNewswire/ -- A community meeting to present the conceptual master plan for the Westlake/MacArthur Park Red Line Station to business owners and residents will be hosted by the RTD on Monday, March 9.
Site of the meeting will be the Los Angeles County Medical Association Auditorium, 1925 Wilshire Blvd., from 6 to 8 p.m.
Plans call for a three-level plaza area including the two Metro Rail portals. The mixed-use, joint venture project will contain up to 300 residential units, a supermarket, movie theaters, retail businesses and a community center.
A series of public meetings and workshops was held in recent months to gather public input from members of the local community, many of whom were interviewed to gain their insight on the history of the community and their vision of what was needed to help revitalize the neighborhood. The conceptual master plan incorporated the community input.
A special effort is being made to attract the Spanish-speaking community to Monday's meeting. A translator will be present to make the presentation in Spanish and to handle questions.
