RTC NAMES CUSHMAN & WAKEFIELD TO MARKET $35 MILLION CALIFORNIA AND TEXAS PROPERTY PORTFOLIO

 LOS ANGELES, Aug. 12 /PRNewswire/ -- The Resolution Trust Corp.'s (RTC) California Sales Center has named Cushman & Wakefield's Los Angeles office to handle the disposition of a portfolio of 12 California and Texas properties valued in excess of $35 million, the commercial real fice structures. All are in Southern California, except for a 57,000 square foot medical office building in Houston, valued at $1.85 million. According to Frederick D. Smith, sales director of the RTC California office, "The Resolution Trust Corp. looks forward to working with Cushman & Wakefield on this very important initiative. We feel that the combined resources of these two organizations will result in the successful disposition of these assets in the most effective and efficient manner."
 Among the major Southern California properties are the 246-room Holiday Inn in Buena Park, the 128-room Best Western Image Suites in Moreno Valley, the 132-unit Stoneridge Apartments in Lakeside, the Clock Tower Plaza shopping center in Lancaster, and a 100,000 square foot research and development facility at Sky Park Center in San Diego. Each of the assets was built between 1984 and 1988 except the Holiday Inn, which was constructed in 1974.
 Open houses are scheduled at each property twice during the marketing program, either on Aug. 17 or 18 or on Sept. 15 or 16. Deadline for the sealed bids is Oct. 7. A Bidders Conference and Seller Financing Seminar, where information and due-diligence books will be available, will be held at the Los Angeles Renaissance Hotel, 9620 Airport Blvd., on Sept. 14.
