RTA promo roundup: how retailers are positioning home office, entertainment lines.
OfficeMax's latest circular advertised free delivery of most office furniture with a minimum purchase. O'Sullivan's "L" work center, featuring a raised monitor platform, was $149.99. Other work centers included a Saratoga desk collection from Bush for $549.96 and a Deluxe Corner work center from O'Sullivan for $399.99.
Kmart promoted various home office pieces by O'Sullivan at $89.99 each. These included a roll-top desk, a barrister bookcase and a lighted curio, available in walnut and oak finishes. Kmart also advertised a Bush entertainment center on sale for $149.99 that holds a 32-inch TV. An O'Sullivan entertainment center that holds a 25-inch TV was offered at $49.99.
Seaman's Furniture advertised a computer work center from O'Sullivan for $149.99 during its "semiannual furniture sale" through March 12.
Pergament's weekly circular promoted a desk "cabinet" by Ameriwood for $99.99 with a pull-out keyboard shelf and duel wheel casters, and a three-piece black/granite home office desk for $199.99, also by Ameriwood. The retailer promoted entertainment centers by Sauder, Ameriwood and Bush, with prices from $49.99 to $99.99. The Sugar Creek entertainment center by Sauder, for $99, is in a spice pine finish with three adjustable shelves.
