Business Editors, High-Tech Writers

LONDON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--May 22, 2000

RSL COM UK, a subsidiary of the global telecommunications carrier RSL Communications Ltd. (NASDAQ:RSLC) has announced that it will adopt VINA Technologies' Multiservice Xchange(TM) (MX) as part of its integrated access service offerings.

As a result, RSL COM UK will provide business customers with a wide array of cost-effective bundled voice and Internet service solutions. VINA Technologies will be providing RSL COM UK with Multservice Xchange- a pizza-boxed sized multiservice broadband access device that seamlessly integrates voice, ISDN, video and Internet access over a common E1, T1 or DSL network connection.

Silicon Valley-based VINA Technologies is entering into relationships around the globe with premier service providers and carriers which focus on providing cost-effective consolidated communications to small and mid-sized businesses. RSL COM UK is the first major carrier in the United Kingdom to integrate VINA's Multiservice Xchange into its business product set.

"With the deregulated telecoms industry becoming ever more competitive, it is essential that RSL COM UK is able to offer our customers a differentiated package of high quality services. VINA's Multiservice Xchange has enabled us to take a lead on our competitors, and deliver the benefits of service convergence today," said Barry Mowbray, RSL COM's managing director of the UK and Benelux. "The Multiservice Xchange isn't just a scaled down version of an enterprise product. It was designed from the ground up with carrier class levels of performance and reliability in mind. And what's more, as our customer's needs grow, the MX will scale beautifully enabling us to provide an even greater breadth of services to our customers."

"Universally, small and medium-sized businesses want to compete in the emerging Internet economy, but they need the right products and the right service provider to get there," said Steve Bauman, president and CEO, VINA Technologies. "By establishing relationships with progressive carriers like RSL COM UK, VINA is working to help level the playing field for small and medium-sized businesses, making speed, access and service integration affordable to their organizations."
