ROYAL POLICE REBUKED.
SIX police officers who were on duty when an intruder dressed as Osama bin Laden gatecrashed Prince William's 21st birthday party at Windsor Castle will be given minor rebukes.
The Metropolitan Police carried out an internal disciplinary probe into the actions of its officers after self-styled comedy terrorist Aaron Barschak breached security in June last year.
It is believed that all bar one of the officers disciplined are still working on royal protection. A chief inspector on duty that night has been transferred to a non-operational role.
Deputy Assistant Commissioner Steve Roberts said: 'What happened on the night was a combination of systematic, procedural and personal errors compounded by insufficient training.
'Whilst we have taken on board the gravity of this breach of security, these sanctions are commensurate with the individual parts each officer played in this incident.'
