ROYAL CARIBBEAN INTRODUCING VEGETARIAN MENUS

 ROYAL CARIBBEAN INTRODUCING VEGETARIAN MENUS
MIAMI, Nov. 13 /PRNewswire/ -- Royal Caribbean Cruise Line is

introducing vegetarian lunch and dinner menus aboard its nine-ship fleet. Royal Caribbean's vegetarian dishes are as tasty and pleasing to the eye as the line's regular award-winning fare. The extensive menus are being developed in response to passenger requests for alternative menu choices.
Vegetarian menus were first introduced aboard the 2,354-passenger megaship Monarch of the Seas in July. Gradually, the vegetarian menus are being expanded to all ships in the fleet. Individual chefs aboard each of Royal Caribbean's ships provide input on which menu items are proving the most popular and also suggest items based on the regular shipboard menu.
Though Royal Caribbean prides itself on fleetwide quality consistency, it varies menu items depending on the length of the cruise and destinations. The vegetarian menu alternative currently is available on Majesty of the Seas, Monarch of the Seas, Sovereign of the Seas, Nordic Empress, Viking Serenade and Song of America. Within the next few months, vegetarian menus will be offered aboard Song of Norway, Nordic Prince and Sun Viking.
"You can't stand still if you want to please passengers' changing tastes," said Peter Hofer, Royal Caribbean's vice president of food and beverage operations. "There's a growing interest among our passengers in vegetarian menu items and we responded with one of the cruise industry's most extensive selections of vegetarian dishes."
Vegetarian lunch selections include entrees like Fettucini Alfredo, Mexican-style Farmer's Omelette, Tortellini Calabrese and a Classic Vegetarian Club Sandwich.
At dinner, vegetarian diners can choose from items like Spaghetti Primavera in cream sauce, Tempura-fried Broccoli and Eggplant, Spinach Ravioli with tomato sauce, Vegetarian Pizza, Vegetable Shepherd's Pie, Spinach Quiche or Texas Vegetable Chili. Spaghetti with tomato sauce and fresh seasonal fruits are available every night of the cruise.
At both lunch and dinner, vegetarian soups, salads and appetizers are offered. To request vegetarian menus, passengers can notify their waiter before each meal that they would like to see the vegetarian menu and then order selections.
