ROYAL CANADIAN MOUNTED POLICE APPROVES ELECTRONIC FINGERPRINT CARDS
FROM DIGITAL BIOMETRICS, INC. MINNETONKA, Minn., Nov. 5 /PRNewswire/ -- Digital Biometrics, Inc. (NASDAQ: DBII), a Minnetonka-based manufacturer of inkless electronic fingerprint systems, today announced that fingerprint cards produced by the company's TENPRINTER(R) live scan systems have been accepted by the Royal Canadian Mounted Police. The TENPRINTER provides an inkless method of capturing a subject's fingerprints utilizing computer and electro-optical technologies. Accordingly, cards produced by the DBI TENPRINTER fingerprinting system on approved RCMP fingerprint forms, are now acceptable for submission to the Canadian Identification Services for search and/or retention in the criminal record files. The company previously received FBI approval in March 1991, the first to receive such approval. The RCMP position with respect to live scan fingerprint equipment requires that all equipment must first complete the FBI Live-Scan certification process followed by completion of the RCMP Live-Scan certification process before RCMP Identification Services will accept cards for use and retention in Criminal Records files. "The RCMP approval is another important verification of the accuracy of fingerprint cards produced by the TENPRINTER and the acceptance of this new technology by the law enforcement community. The testing by the RCMP was extremely thorough and it is gratifying to also be the first company to receive RCMP approval," said Jack A. Klingert, chairman and chief executive officer of Digital Biometrics. This means Canadian law enforcement agencies are now able to procure TENPRINTER systems with the approval of Canada's premier law enforcement institution. For DBI the approval means that yet another international market is open for the company's TENPRINTER. -0- 11/05/91 /CONTACT: Donald E.
