ROTHSCHILD TO ADVISE THE MEXICAN AUTHORITIES ON THE SALE OF BANPAIS

MEXICO CITY, March 11 /PRNewswire/ -- Rothschild Mexico S.A. de C.V. in association with Rothschild Inc. (together "Rothschild") have been selected as financial adviser concerning the sale of Banpais S.A. ("Banpais") on behalf of the Mexican financial authorities. Banpais is a leading Mexican bank and has more than 150 branches with a focus on Mexico City, Monterrey and Guadalajara.

Rothschild proposed the adoption of the good bank/bad bank structure that will be used to restructure Banpais as a part of its retention by the financial authorities last year to evaluate Banpais' capital shortfall and review potential restructuring strategies.
