ROSE STREET.

ROSE STREET, who was denied a run at York's abandoned Ebor meeting last week, gained some compensation with a dour success in the pounds 8,000-plus City Of Ripon Handicap.

Pushed along some way out by Philip Robinson, the filly kept responding and led inside the final furlong for a two-length success.

The winner carries the colours of Ray Green and his wife Anita, and the former said: "We were going to run her at York last Tuesday, but the weather put paid to that."
