ROP / Agreement.

Muscat, June 14 (ONA)--- Lt.Gen Malik bin Sulaiman al Ma'amari, Inspector General of Police and Customs signed at the General Command of Police in Qurum today a consultative services agreement between the Royal Oman Police (ROP) and the Singaporean COSEM Safety and Security Services Company.

The agreement is for training cadres of the civil defence on civil search operations and rescue, developing staff capacities to face local needs, respond to humanitarian missions and enabling ROP to carry out its work and coordinate its efforts with the National Search and Rescue Team within the framework of the United Nations (UN) system for Humanitarian Operations Reaction besides involving in the external classification system of the International Consultative Group For Search And Rescue to obtain the International excel in the field.

The agreement was signed from the Singaporean side by James Tan, Executive Chairman of the Singaporean Civil Defence Pension Fund and former Commander of the Civil Defence.

The agreement signing ceremony was attended by Maj.Gen Salim bin Musallam Qatan, Assistant Inspector General of Police and Customs, Col. Yazid Abdullah from the Singaporean Civil Defence and a number of ROP officers.
