RONALD F. FORTUNE PROMOTED TO CEO AT PARAMOUNT'S COMPUTER CURRICULUM

 NEW YORK, Feb. 4 /PRNewswire/ -- Paramount Publishing, the publishing operation of Paramount Communications Inc., today announced that Ronald F. Fortune, has been promoted to chief executive officer of its Computer Curriculum unit. Dr. Fortune will continue to hold the position of president of Computer Curriculum, a leader in computer-based learning systems.
 "This promotion recognizes the significant contributions made by Ron to the continuing growth and success of Computer Curriculum," said John Schram, president of the elementary education division of Paramount Publishing, of which Computer Curriculum is part. "During his tenure at Computer Curriculum, Ron has led the company's marketing, sales and product development operations. This promotion will broaden his charter to focus on strategic direction particularly on the integration of technology into the products and services of the other units in the Paramount Publishing Education Group."
 Dr. Fortune assumes the C.E.O. duties from Keith Schaefer, who last month was named president of Paramount Communications' newly formed Paramount Technology Group.
 Dr. Fortune, who has been with Computer Curriculum for 13 years, championed the company's pioneering role in developing interactive multimedia learning systems for schools. He has published numerous articles regarding the use of technology in schools and has also testified before the U.S. House of Representatives as an expert in the field. He holds an M.B.A. (1984), a Ph.D. in education (1979), a masters in education (1974) and an A.B. in History (1970), all from the University of California, Berkeley.
