ROHR-HAGERSTOWN EMPLOYEES ACCEPT NEW THREE-YEAR AGREEMENT
CHULA VISTA, Calif., Nov. 2 /PRNewswire/ -- Members of the United Auto Workers union at Rohr's (NYSE: RHR) Hagerstown, Md., composite bonding facility voted Sunday to accept a new three-year labor agreement.
The agreement covering 350 union employees calls for general wage increases of 3 percent the first year, 3 percent the second year and 2.5 percent the final year. A prepaid lump sum cost-of-living allowance replaces an existing results-sharing formula, effective Nov. 1, 1992. An additional lump sum of $500 will be paid in May 1995.
Other provisions call for an increase in employee contributions to the company's medical plan and a reduction in the company's contribution to its 401(k) plan from 50 percent in cash to 25 percent in stock.
"I believe this is a very positive agreement for the Hagerstown- represented employees as well as for Rohr," said Jay Howe, plant manager.
Rohr designs, integrates, manufactures and supports engine nacelle systems and components for commercial, military and business aircraft. The company also manufactures solid rocket motor casings and nozzles for the Titan IV launch vehicle. Rohr, headquartered in Chula Vista, has facilities in the United States and Europe.
