ROHR WORKERS ACCEPT NEW THREE-YEAR PACT

CHULA VISTA, Calif., Feb. 22 /PRNewswire/ -- Members of the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers at two Rohr Inc. (NYSE: RHR) facilities voted Sunday to ratify a new three-year labor agreement.
The IAM represents 1,456 unionized employees in Chula Vista (Local 755) and 1,174 employees in Riverside (Local 964).
The contract calls for general wage increases of 2.5 percent effective Aug. 8, 1994, and 3 percent effective Aug. 7, 1995. In addition, the workers will receive a one-time lump sum bonus of $1,600, with $600 paid on April 2, 1993, and the balance on Aug. 6, 1993.
Other contract provisions call for changes in health care with the addition of two HMO plans: an 80 percent plan with no contributions and a 100 percent plan that requires monthly contributions. Other benefit changes include a long-term disability plan, increased retirement benefits from $29 to $33 per month for each year of credited service and a reduction in company contributions to the employee savings plan.
Workers are scheduled to return to their jobs beginning with third shift tonight, followed by the first and second shifts at their regular times tomorrow.
