ROHR DELIVERS FIRST HARDWARE FOR GE90

CHULA VISTA, Calif., Feb. 1 /PRNewswire/ -- Rohr (NYSE: RHR) recently delivered the first set of developmental test hardware for the GE90 -- the world's most powerful turbofan engine. The Rohr- designed hardware consists of several engine components as well as the nozzle and centerbody.
Designed to power the Boeing 777 and other next-generation aircraft, the GE90 is capable of potential thrust growth to more than 100,000 pounds. To date, four Boeing customers -- British Airways, Euralair, International Lease Finance Corp. and Lauda Air -- have ordered the GE90-powered 777.
Based on current market projections, the sales value of Rohr's life-of-program contract with GE Aircraft Engines is approximately $400 million.
Rohr designs, integrates, manufactures and supports engine nacelle systems and components for commercial, military and business aircraft. The company also manufactures solid rocket motor casings and nozzles for the Titan IV launch vehicles. Rohr, headquartered in Chula Vista, has facilities in the United States and Europe.
