 ROGER STRELOW NAMED EXECUTIVE VICE PRESIDENT
 FOR BECHTEL ENVIRONMENTAL INC.
 SAN FRANCISCO, May 5 /PRNewswire/ -- Roger Strelow, who joined Bechtel in 1990 as vice president of Bechtel Environmental Inc. (BEI), has been elected executive vice president of BEI. In his new position, he is responsible for the company's worldwide marketing and operations.
 Strelow is a 20-year veteran of the environmental field whose experience includes corporate law and government agency service. Prior to joining Bechtel, he served as vice president of corporate environmental programs for General Electric Co. Previously, he worked as assistant administrator for air and waste management for the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, as staff director of the U.S. Council on Environmental Quality, and as assistant to the U.S. Secretary of Health, Education and Welfare. He also practiced environmental law as a founding partner of Swidler & Berlin in Washington.
 Strelow, 49, holds a bachelor's degree in business and economics from Principia College in Illinois and a law degree from the University of California at Berkeley, where he was an editor of the California Law Review. He serves on the boards of several noted environmental organizations, including the Climate Institute and Clean Sites Inc.
 BEI is a worldwide environmental engineering and construction firm specializing in remediation, waste and wastewater treatment, and waste minimization projects. Recent projects have included cleaning up some 30 Superfund sites, assisting with Clean Air Act and Resource Conservation and Recovery Act compliance at refineries and other industrial facilities, and managing the cleanup of the Gulf oil spill on behalf of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. BEI is the environmental subsidiary of Bechtel Group Inc., which is ranked by Environmental Business Journal as the nation's largest environmental engineering and consulting firm.
