 OPENS OFFICE IN TORONTO
 Establishes New Sales and Service Organization for Canada
 DOWNERS GROVE, Ill., Aug. 19 /PRNewswire/ -- Rockwell International Corp.'s (NYSE: ROK) Switching Systems Division today announced the opening of a new office in Toronto. The office and the establishment of a new sales and service organization are part of the company's continuing efforts to broaden its business in Canada.
 Rockwell's Switching Systems Division develops and markets systems and services for the call processing market. Products include automatic call distributors (ACDs), consoles and terminals, headsets, voice/data integration, voice processing and network management.
 "We remain committed to continuing to bring affordable, high technology solutions to our Canadian customers," said Clarence Marshall, Switching Systems' director of international marketing. "We foresee significant growth opportunities in Canada's call processing marketplace, and elsewhere. Our strategy is to gear-up to meet those demands with new products while we continue to provide development assistance and support to our existing Canadian Galaxy ACD customers."
 Marshall said this announcement is the first of several the division plans to make during the next few months regarding its expanded involvement in Canadian markets.
 As part of its new organization in Canada, Rockwell Switching Systems announced the appointment of Barbara Clinton to head its direct sales activities for all the provinces. She formerly held a variety of sales roles with Teknekron. Additionally, Vijay Williams Singh has been named head of service and maintenance. He had formerly been head of customer service for Northern Telecom.
 Rockwell also announced it will participate in the Canada Business Telecom Association trade show exhibition on Sept. 22-24 in Toronto.
