ROCKWELL INTERNATIONAL CONTRIBUTES $50,000 TO THE DETROIT INSTITUTE OF ARTS

TROY, Mich., Nov. 12 /PRNewswire/ -- Rockwell International pledged $50,000 to the Detroit Institute of Arts (DIA) Partnership for Renewal program at the Institute's office today.
The contribution will be allocated over a five-year period with the first installment made today by Ronald L. Roudebush, president of Rockwell's Automotive business. Roudebush presented a check during a breakfast ceremony at the DIA this morning to Joseph P. Bianco Jr., executive vice president, DIA Founders Society, and Allan Gilmour, a DIA board member and vice chairman at Ford Motor Company.
"Rockwell's long history of philanthropic involvement is dedicated to helping the survival of the community's greatest assets, like the DIA," Roudebush said. "Our commitment to the DIA, both financially and through volunteer efforts, is stronger than ever. We recognize and are proud of its importance to Detroit and the Institute's world-renowned reputation."
The DIA's Partnership for Renewal program is a fund-raising program designed to enhance educational and cultural enrichment programs and maintain current operating funds. Fourteen members of the Rockwell Club, an employee organization based at its automotive headquarters in Troy, were also honored by Roudebush and the DIA for their participation in the DIA's Super Sundays program. As part of the program, the employees volunteered to staff museum galleries on Sundays for a one- month period.
"Rockwell's gift represents a true 'vote of confidence' not only in the DIA's present but also in its future," Gilmour said. "Rockwell, like Ford, recognizes the added dimension that the DIA brings to our businesses, employees and citizens is priceless. This contribution will mean a great deal to the DIA and the important role it plays in our lives."
"We are delighted by Rockwell International's generous support of the Partnership for Renewal campaign," Bianco said. "The contribution underscores Rockwell's leadership in the business community and is a hallmark of their 20-year relationship with the DIA as a corporate member."
