ROCKWELL EMPLOYEES CELEBRATE 'WE NEED OUR SPACE DAY'

SEAL BEACH, Calif., July 15 /PRNewswire/ -- Thousands of employees at Rockwell International Corp. facilities around the country will voice their support for America's space program by kicking off National Space Week with a celebration of "We Need Our Space Day."
The Rockwell celebration is part of an ongoing effort to demonstrate the benefits provided by the space program -- from improvements in health care to enhanced monitoring of the Earth and its atmosphere.
As part of "We Need Our Space Day," employees at Rockwell's Rocketdyne Division in Canoga Park will receive a visit from Los Angeles Mayor Richard Riordan. At Space Systems Division in Downey, Calif., a model of the Lunar Rover from the Apollo program will be on view.
Employees will receive "I Need My Space" buttons, which were designed with the help of sixth graders from Pacoima (Calif.) Elementary School.
Activities are also planned at other Rockwell facilities in Southern California; Houston; Huntsville, Ala.; Pittsburgh; Stennis, Miss.; and Washington, D.C.
Rockwell International is a multi-industry company applying advanced technology to a wide range of products in its electronics, aerospace, automotive and graphics businesses.
