ROBSON ENTERTAINMENT SETS FIRST PRODUCTION; FAMILY FILM BUDGETED AT ABOUT $7 MILLION

BEVERLY HILLS, Calif., Jan. 28 /PRNewswire/ -- "Gordo," a family film about a piglet that becomes a financial tycoon, will be the first film produced by the newly formed Robson Entertainment, a film and television production company.
The picture, which is in pre-production in Atlanta, will have a budget of $6 million to $7 million. A director will be named shortly, and filming is expected to start early in April.
"Family-oriented films will be the backbone of the company," said Sybil Robson, the company's president and chief executive officer. "I think there is a huge audience worldwide hungry for family entertainment. We want to fill the void."
"Gordo," originally titled "Waldo," was written several years ago by Jay Sommers and Dick Chevillat and re-written by Leslie Stevens, executive vice president in charge of production for Robson.
Robson said the company plans to focus on family fare but will also make mainstream films in the $5 million to $8 million range.
