 OF INTERNATIONAL ENGINEERING AND CONSTRUCTION INDUSTRIES COUNCIL
 NEW YORK, April 9 /PRNewswire/ -- The Turner Corporation (AMEX: TUR), the nation's leading general builder, today announced that Robert W. Nilsson, vice president and director of marketing, the Turner Corporation, and vice chairman, Turner International Industries, Inc., has been named the Associated General Contractors of America's (AGC) representative and chairman of the International Engineering and Construction Industries Council (IECIC).
 IECIC is comprised of the American Institute of Architects, the American Consulting Engineers Council and the National Constructors Association, as well as AGC. The main issues to be addressed by IECIC in 1992 include support of the North American Free Trade Agreement and support of free trade in general, particularly for services.
 Nilsson joined Turner Construction Company in 1963 and has held a variety of positions with Turner, including vice president and territory general manager of the Washington office and president of Turner International Industries. He holds a B.S. in construction engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and served in the Marines in Vietnam with the rank of captain.
 The Turner Corporation, through Turner Construction Company and other construction subsidiaries, is the nation's largest builder of commercial, industrial, hospital and healthcare, institutional, retail, government building and multi-unit housing projects. Operating through more than 35 offices, Turner has construction projects under way throughout the United States and abroad. During 1991, the Turner Corporation completed $2.7 billion of construction.
