 ROBERT N. PARKER JOINS PERCEPTRONICS' BOARD
 WOODLAND HILLS, Calif., Oct. 9 /PRNewswire -- Robert N. Parker,


former executive vice president of LTV Aerospace and Defense Company, has been elected to the board of directors of Perceptronics, Inc. (NASDAQ: PERC).

Parker, a recognized authority on research, science and engineering for the defense industry, has served on the Defense Science Board since 1985. This advisory panel, appointed by the U.S. secretary of defense, provides independent scientific evaluations of advanced defense systems.
 "We are extremely pleased to add to our board expertise the depth of knowledge Bob Parker brings regarding future technology needs of the defense industry," said Dr. Gershon Weltman, Perceptronics' chairman and chief executive officer. In addition, he has a strong personal interest in the transfer of defense technology to commercial markets, a major current goal of the company."
 Parker also serves on the advisory board of directors for the Association of the U.S. Army, on the Land Warfare Committee, and as a director of the American Defense Preparedness Association.
 Prior to his retirement from LTV earlier this year, Parker served more than a dozen years in senior management capacities with the company, including president of its missile division.
 From 1973 to 1977, he was principal deputy director of defense research and engineering in the U.S. Department of Defense.
 Parker earned a master of science degree from the University of California at Los Angeles in 1956.
 Perceptronics is engaged in research and development and in the manufacture and marketing of computer-based simulation software and systems for commercial and military training and decision support.
