ROBERT LEVY JOINS ENERGY BIOSYSTEMS AS VP, NEW BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT

 THE WOODLANDS, Texas, Jan. 11 /PRNewswire/ -- Energy BioSystems Corporation (NASDAQ: ENBC) announced today that Robert E. Levy, Ph.D. has joined the company as vice president, new business development. In this position, Levy, 54 years old, will be responsible for technology development alliances, Federal R&D programs, and new technology acquisition. Levy was formerly with the M.W. Kellogg Company, where he served as vice president and director, technology development.
 Levy's career spans over 25 years in the oil industry. At M.W. Kellogg, he was responsible for planning and managing the development of innovative process technologies for refining, petrochemical and fertilizer industries. He managed the Kellogg Technology Development Center laboratories and was in charge of all new technology acquisition from third parties. Previously, Levy spent 19 years with Exxon Corporation, most recently as the manager of the Synthetic Fuels Division. Levy received his Ph.D. in chemical engineering from the University of California at Berkeley and his B.S. in chemical engineering from Cornell University.
 Energy BioSystems Corporation is commercializing biotechnology-based processes for the refining and oil production industries. The company's focus to date has been on developing biocatalytic desulfurization, a proprietary process involving the use of bacteria to remove sulfur from a arrange of fossil fuels. This process is expected to help refiners worldwide meet environmental regulations in a more cost effective manner and has the potential to greatly improve the value of high-sulfur fuel reserves.
