ROBERT KRIEBLE, RETIRED FORTUNE 500 CHAIRMAN, HOSTS POLITICAL
AND ECONOMIC TRAINING PROGRAM FOR SOVIET DEMOCRATIC LEADERS
WASHINGTON, Feb. 21 /PRNewswire/ -- Dr. Robert Krieble, retired founder and chairman of the Fortune 500 Loctite Corporation, is hosting a group of 11 democratic reformers from the former Soviet Union and Eastern Europe for six weeks of political and economic training.
The group arrived at The Krieble Institute of the Free Congress Foundation, a Washington-based educational organization, on Feb. 17 and will continue their training until April 1, 1992.
These democratic leaders (see list below) represent Kazakhstan, Estonia, Tajikistan, Russia, Croatia, Ukraine and Albania.
The Krieble Institute was founded by Krieble to assist democratic reformers and leaders in former communist countries in their efforts toward free markets and democratic reform.
Krieble recently returned from conducting seminars in Albania and Romania and will be leaving on Feb. 27 for programs in Odessa, Ukraine and Alma Alta, Kazakhstan.
The Krieble Institute training program in the United States includes instruction in a variety of democratic and entrepreneurial strategies such as volunteer recruitment, opposition research, media relations, fundraising, governing in a free market economy, building private enterprise and creating wealth.
The training culminates on March 20 with a trip to Orange County, Calif., for hands-on campaign experience in the "Bill Dannemeyer for U.S. Senate" campaign. The field representatives will participate in two other Orange County congressional campaigns before they return to Washington on March 29. Some representatives will also participate in races in South Carolina.
For the past three years, Krieble's group has held 28 seminars and instructed 2,350 members of the democratic opposition in the Soviet Union including members of Boris Yeltsin's staff, the current mayor of Moscow and Moscow police chief.
The Krieble Institute is located at 717 Second St. N.E., in Washington.
Those interested in meeting these leaders, attending the training seminars or covering their California political work should contact Robert Engle or Joseph Preston at 703-356-8230.
