ROBERT GOLDMAN NAMED CHAIRMAN OF THE BOARD FOR EXTENSION TECHNOLOGY

 BOSTON, April 22 /PRNewswire/ -- Robert Goldman has been named chairman of the board of Extension Technology Corp., the company announced today. Goldman currently serves as chairman of Trinzic Corp. in Palo Alto, Calif. He is also a director of Intersolv, APX Labs, SystemSoft and Parametric Technology Corp.
 In making the announcement, Extension Technology CEO Eugene Chang said today that "We're excited to have successfully recruited an executive with Bob's caliber. His experience with high technology business will help accelerate our efforts with strategic alliances."
 Prior to his current positions, Goldman served as president and chief operating officer of Cullinet Software, Inc. He received a B.S. in computer science from Purdue University.
 In a separate announcement, the company said today that it has completed its second round of financing, which will amount to over $3 million, from Bessemer Venture Partners. Bessemer, one of the oldest venture capital firms in the country, has funded such well-known companies as Ungermann-Bass and Telenet.


The Long-Distance LAN Adapter
 Extension Technology markets the Long-Distance LAN Adapter, the first Long-Distance LAN(tm) product. The LD-LAN Adapter lets PC users separated by thousands of miles form a virtual LAN. The Adapter consists of software and a 16-bit network interface board that plugs into a single full-length expansion slot in desktop or portable computers. The LD-LAN Adapter works with an economical basic-rate ISDN digital telephone line.
 Once connected to the remote network, the user's computer can act either as a workstation or server. The LD-LAN Adapter is compatible with IBM(R) PC/AT(R), PS/2(R) model 25, 30, 35, 40 computers or compatibles, and EISA computers.
