ROBERT C. LAMB, JR. NAMED CONTROLLER OF FLEET FINANCIAL GROUP

 PROVIDENCE, R.I., April 21 /PRNewswire/ -- Robert C. Lamb, Jr. has been appointed controller of Fleet Financial Group, it was announced today by John. W. Flynn, vice chairman and chief financial officer.
 Lamb will be responsible for managing the operations of Fleet's Corporate Accounting Division, as well as supervising the field controllers at Fleet's subsidiaries.
 He was previously a senior vice president, corporate accounting operations, at Fleet.
 Lamb, 37, joined Fleet's data processing subsidiary as controller in 1986, and was named controller of Fleet Services Corp. in 1988. He was appointed controller of another affiliate, Fleet Credit Corp., in 1990 and became a vice president of that subsidiary the following year. In 1991, Lamb transferred to RECOLL Management Corp., Boston, as senior vice president and chief financial officer. RECOLL Management Corp. is an asset management and collections company which operates as a wholly owned subsidiary of Fleet Financial Group.
 Before joining Fleet, Lamb was a manager in the Washington, D.C. office of Peat Marwick, Mitchell & Co., and served as an officer in the U.S. Army.
 A graduate of the United States Military Academy at West Point, Lamb also holds a master's degree in business administration from Long Island University. He and his family live in Dover, Mass.
