ROBERT BINIAZ NAMED CHIEF OPERATING OFFICER OF MCA SOFTWARE UNIT

 UNIVERSAL CITY, Calif., Jan. 4 /PRNewswire/ -- Robert Biniaz has been named chief operating officer of Universal Interactive Studios, it was announced today by Skip Paul, executive vice president, MCA Inc., and president, MCA Enterprises Inc.
 Paul, who will head the new business unit, said, "I am particularly pleased to be able to bring Rob to Universal Interactive Studios as COO. His varied background in the entertainment business, including his experience setting up MCA Records' interactive music laboratory makes him the ideal person to help build our new company."
 In his role as chief operating officer, Biniaz will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the company including the development of relationships with outside developers and affiliates. His most immediate tasks will be to complete the staffing of the company and to coordinate the launch of the company's first product, Jurassic Park Interactive for the 3DO Interactive Multiplayer system.
 Biniaz was formerly senior vice president, Business Development for MCA Music Entertainment Group. He joined MCA in 1988 as executive vice president of MCA Concerts. Before coming to MCA, he was vice president, Business Affairs at CBS Records. He began his career as an assistant U.S. attorney in Los Angeles after graduating from Stanford Law School and Yale University.
