ROADMASTER REPORTS ANOTHER RECORD YEAR; NET EARNINGS INCREASE 175 PERCENT

ENGLEWOOD, Colo., April 2 /PRNewswire/ -- Roadmaster Industries Inc. ("RMI") (NASDAQ: WHEL) announced today its Dec. 31, 1992, audited year-end results. The company said that both its revenues and net earnings were the highest ever in the history of the company.
Net sales for 1992 for all of the RMI reporting units were $226.2 million compared to $192.7 million for the previous record year, 1991, an increase of 17 percent. Net earnings for 1992 were $6,000,000 or 21 cents per share on 28,918,000 shares compared to $2,185,000 or 8 cents per share on 27,215,000 shares for 1991. Net earnings increased approximately 175 percent for 1992 over 1991. As previously reported, because of a change in financial reporting in 1992, both 1992 and 1991 net sales figures exclude the net sales of Ajay Leisure Products Inc., which is no longer a consolidated entity.
Henry Fong, RMI chairman, president and chief executive officer, stated, "We are extremely pleased with these results and see them as a foundation for further growth and the commitment to our stockholders of maximization of shareholder value. The success of 1992 is continuing and we fully expect to capitalize on this momentum with more record results for 1993."
RMI operates through its two wholly owned subsidiaries, Roadmaster Corp. ("Roadmaster") and Hamilton Lamp Corp. ("Hamilton") as well as its majority-owned subsidiary, International Sports and Fitness Inc. ("International"). Roadmaster is a leading designer and manufacturer of Roadmaster(R) junior wheel goods, Roadmaster(R) PlaySafe(TM) swing sets, Roadmaster(R) bicycles and Vitamaster(R) fitness equipment. Hamilton is a leading manufacturer of lamps including children's lighting products and replacement lamp shades. International, through its wholly owned subsidiary, Roadmaster Leisure Inc., markets and distributes a broad range of sporting goods and recreational products, including Roadmaster products, in Canada.
