ROAD REPORT.

Byline: The Register-Guard

Here's a look at major road construction this week around the region. Weather conditions may cause delays.

Eugene Area

Garden Way in Eugene: Garden Way between Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard and Commons Drive will remain closed to through traffic. Only local residential traffic and patients of the chiropractic and sports medicine clinic will be allowed access. All other traffic should use alternate north-south routes such as Coburg Road or Pioneer Parkway.

Gilham and Cal Young roads in Eugene: Preparation work for milling and paving work the week of July 12. Expect occasional delays and lane detours.

Gilham Road in Eugene: Crack sealing to begin on Gilham between Crescent and Belt Line roads. Intermittent slowdowns..

Country Club Road in Eugene: Crack sealing will continue on easterly end from Southwood to Club Way. Expect slowdowns and lane restrictions.

Springfield Area

Jasper Road Extension: Base lift paving scheduled this week from Main Street to Glacier Drive. Expect lane closures and 10-minute delays. Installation of sidewalks, street lights and traffic signals continues between Main Street and Glacier Drive. Traffic continues to use the detour on South 57th and 58th streets between Daisy Street and Glacier Drive. Construction also continues on the new entrance into the Emerald Isle Mobile Home Park. Use other routes if possible during the construction hours of 7 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

South A Street in Springfield: Springfield Utility District will be installing a new water line on south side of South A from Fourth Street to the Willamette River.

Florence Area

Clear Lake Road: Excavation work and fill continues on road-widening project between Canary Road and Jensen Lane, with installation of storm drainage pipe also scheduled for this week. Expect 10-15 minute delays.

Walton Area

Nelson Mountain Road: Replacement of the Chickahominy Creek bridge continues with construction of a temporary one-lane detour bridge. Traffic restricted to one lane on the bridge, with approaching motorists yielding the right-of-way to traffic already on the bridge.
