Here's a look at major road construction this week around the region. Weather conditions may cause delays.
Eugene-River Road area
Valley River Drive: Near Valley River Way and along west side of Delta Highway: wastewater repair work will be done at night,
starting Sunday; watch for lane detours and flaggers.
Goodpasture Island Road (Valley River Drive to 2,000 feet north): Wastewater repair work starts Monday; watch for southbound lane closures and
Lone Oaks Drive east of Division Avenue: Lane closures and flaggers for road construction through mid-September; expect minor delays.
Patterson Street between 18th and 21st avenues, Hilyard Street between 19th and 20th avenues, East 19th Avenue between University and Patterson streets: Wastewater repairs under way; watch for lane closures and detours, seek alternate routes.
Echo Hollow Road from Royal Avenue to Dove Lane: Lane and sidewalk closures and traffic controlled by flaggers as paving work continues.
18th Avenue from Bailey Hill Road to Josh Street: Lane closures and traffic controlled by flaggers as grinding and paving work continues.
Douglas Drive at the Eugene Airport: Periodic lane closures for striping work.
Amazon Parkway between 19th Avenue and 24th Place: Sidewalk installation; watch for trucks entering roadway and bicycle lane impacts.
Madison Street between Fourth and Second avenues: Closed during daytime construction hours for several days beginning Monday as Union
Pacific Railroad upgrades the track crossing.
Lorane Highway between Chambers Street and West 29th Avenue: Lane closures and intermittent delays Tuesday through Friday for paving.
Cottage Grove area
Adams Road: Overlay paving begins this week; traffic controlled by flaggers. Expect 15 minute delays.
Gowdyville Road: Asphalt overlay will be installed this week; watch for flaggers and pilot car, with delays up to 20 minutes.
London Road: Driveway paving scheduled for this week, with traffic controlled by flaggers and a pilot car. Expect delays up to 15 minutes.
East Lane County
McKenzie Highway 126: Guardrail and bridge work from Mileposts 38-55 and the Clear Lake-Belknap Springs Highway, from Finn Rock to the Lane County line. Watch for signs, flaggers and workers along the roadside; expect minor delays.
Territorial Highway: Construction continues on addition of a left turn lane, curbs, sidewalks and a pedestrian island at a school crossing at Warthen Road, about Milepost 18.5. Daytime delays may be 20 minutes; watch for flaggers.
Highway 99: Guardrail work from Highway 58 to Ricket Road and on Cloverdale Road from Interstate 5 to Rodgers Road; expect one-lane traffic on Cloverdale at the Coast Fork Willamette River Bridge.
Junction City area
Highway 99: Final "clean-up" work on the major reconstruction of Highway 99 from Flat Creek Bridge to West Third Avenue; expect minor delays.
Nelson Mountain Road: Work continues on the reroofing of the Lake Creek Covered Bridge, with the road closed on both sides of the bridge from 9 a.m. to noon and 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. on work days.
Marcola Road: Installation of sidewalks and drainage structures will continue through the week from Parsons Creek to Wendling roads, with final roadway paving scheduled for Thursday and Friday. Flaggers and a pilot car will control traffic; expect delays up to 20 minutes between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m.
Highway 58: Project continues to add passing lanes, widen the highway, build new fish culverts and install new signs and guardrails from Kitson Ridge to the West Salt Creek Tunnel, mileposts 39-56. Flaggers and pilot cars control traffic; expect delays up to 20 minutes. Seek alternate routes.
Santa Clara area
Irvington Drive: Installation of storm sewers and modification to the sanitary sewer system will be ongoing this week between Verbena Avenue and Crocker Road, with roadbed excavation between Verbena and Willowbrook Street. The roadway will be closed to through traffic during work hours; signed detour routes will be posted, with flaggers controlling traffic and 20-minute delays through the project area.
River Road: Fine grading will be going on throughout the week between Carthage Avenue and Beacon Drive, along with sidewalk and street-lighting installation. Roadway paving should be underway Thursday and Friday. Expect delays up to 15 minutes, with traffic controlled by flaggers.
Seavey Loop area
Seavey Way: Construction continues on the new Frank Parrish Bridge over the Coast Fork of the Willamette River at the entrance to the Howard Buford Recreation Area, with traffic diverted to a detour bridge. Traffic delays will be minimal.
South Lane County area
Interstate 5: Construction continues on the Coast Fork Willamette River Bridge, about milepost 180. Expect congestion, delays and slow trucks and other construction vehicles entering or leaving the freeway.
McKenzie Highway 126: Possible lane closures from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. Monday through Thursday for continued work on the bridges across the Willamette River at Franklin Boulevard.
