RIPE NCC organises workshop on IPv6 with Oman's TRA.
Reseaux IP Europeens Network Coordination Centre (RIPE NCC) held an IPv6 workshop in Oman, in partnership with the Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (TRA) in line with its efforts to raise awareness on IPv6 deployment for public and private organisations. Government telecommunications employees and key stakeholders from the private sector took part in the training to learn how to work with IPv6 and its effective implementation.
The RIPE NCC has developed various initiatives to support its members with technical expertise related to the Internet infrastructure including IPv6 deployment. The training, held recently, taught participants basic concepts of IPv6 to advanced IPv6 related issues.
Noting the success of the event, Paul Rendek, Director of External Relations at the RIPE NCC, said: "The success of and demand for these workshops shows the Oman telecom sector's commitment to furthering their engagement in the nation's transition to IPv6. The workshop provided the participants with expert guidance on the technical aspects of transitioning to IPv6 and we are confident this will accelerate their shift to the new IP version."
The RIPE NCC seeks to continuously strengthen its partnerships with members including government entities and law enforcement agencies to develop effective solutions to deal with cybercrime and other challenges through IPv6 migration.
