RICHARD S. BODMAN APPOINTED TO TYCO LABORATORIES' BOARD OF DIRECTORS
 EXETER, N.H., April 13 /PRNewswire/ -- Tyco Laboratories, Inc. (NYSE: TYC) announced today that Richard S. Bodman has been elected to Tyco's board of directors.
 Bodman is senior vice president for Corporate Strategy, Development and Intellectual Property of American Telephone and Telegraph Corporation. He is a member of AT&T's Management Executive Committee, oversee's AT&T's responsibility for Sandia National Laboratories and is chairman of AT&T Development Corporation.
 Previously Bodman served as president of Washington National Investment Corporation. He also was president and CEO of Comsat General Corporation and president of Satellite Television Corporation, two major subsidiaries of Communications Satellite Corporation (COMSAT).
 Bodman also held positions with E.I. dupont de Nemours & Company and with the U.S. government as assistant secretary of the Department of Interior and as assistant director of the Office of Management and Budget in the Executive Office of the President.
 Bodman, a resident of Chatham, N.J., holds a B.S. degree in engineering from Princeton University and an M.S. degree in industrial management from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
 Bodman's appointment brings the size of Tyco's board to nine directors.
 Tyco is a worldwide manufacturer of fire protection systems, flow control products, electrical and electronic components and packaging materials.
