 RICHARD LINDHEIM APPOINTED EXECUTIVE VICE PRESIDENT
 OF THE TELEVISION GROUP, PARAMOUNT PICTURES
 HOLLYWOOD, Oct. 6 /PRNewswire/ -- Richard D. Lindheim has been appointed executive vice president of the Television Group of Paramount Pictures, it was announced today. He will report to Kerry McCluggage, president of the group.
 Lindheim will be involved in all aspects of the Paramount Television Group, especially in the areas of strategy, planning and maximizing growth opportunities for Paramount's television assets.
 "Dick's extensive background at the network and in management, research, marketing and production makes him an invaluable member of the Paramount team," McCluggage said. "Paramount Television's rapid growth gives us the opportunity to fully exploit his understanding of all facets of the television business."
 Lindheim joins Paramount Pictures after a long career at the NBC Television Network and subsequently, MCA Inc. Most recently, he was executive vice president, program strategy, for the MCA Television Group since 1991.
 Lindheim joined Universal Television in 1979 as a producer. He moved into management in 1981, becoming vice president of current programming. He became senior vice president, series programming, shortly thereafter, and, in 1987, was promoted to executive vice president, creative affairs.
 He began his career in 1966 at Los Angeles network affiliate KNBC, as a writer-producer for a public affairs program. After a stint in the CBS network story department, Lindheim joined Audience Studies Inc. as research project director. In 1969, he joined the NBC network as administrator, program testing, and was promoted to vice president, program research, in 1974. Subsequently, he was named vice president, current drama programs and program development for NBC.
 As a producer, Lindheim was co-creator of "The Equalizer" and co- producer of the "B.J. and the Bear" television series.
 He has published articles in the Journal of Broadcasting and has written two textbooks: "PRIMETIME: Network Television Programming" and "Inside Television Producing." He has also taught classes on television programming at the USC School of Journalism, California State University, Northridge and UCLA Extension.
 Lindheim holds a bachelor's degree in engineering from the University of Redlands and a master's degree in communications from the University of Southern California.
