RICHARD F. MORRISON JOINS PRIMERICA AS CHIEF INFORMATION OFFICER
NEW YORK, March 18 /PRNewswire/ -- Richard F. Morrison has joined Primerica Corporation (NYSE: PA) as senior vice president and chief information officer, the company announced today. He replaces Edwin E. Sherin, who was recently named vice chairman and chief operating officer of Massachusetts Indemnity and Life Insurance Company, a Primerica subsidiary.
"Mr. Morrison will be responsible for all corporate data processing and telecommunications, as well as Action Data Services," said John Fowler, Primerica's executive vice president and chief administrative officer, "and his years of experience in virtually every facet of information services make him a welcome addition to our team and a great resource for our business units."
Since late 1991, Morrison has been president and chief executive officer of Call Interactive, a joint venture between American Express Information Services Corporation and AT&T which provides comprehensive interactive voice services to businesses and state lotteries using 800 and 900 telephone lines. He joined American Express Information Services in early 1991 from American Express Company's Shearson Lehman Brothers subsidiary where he had been senior executive vice president and co-chief administrative officer since 1986.
Morrison held positions of increasing responsibility in information services and operations during his 26-year tenure with Shearson and its predecessor firms and began his career in 1964 with Hornblower & Weeks. He is a former director of NASDAQ, the Depository Trust Company and Cytrol Inc.
