 RICHARD C. BARNETT NAMED CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER
 OF TYLER PIPE INDUSTRIES
 DALLAS, Aug. 19 /PRNewswire/ -- Joseph F. McKinney, chief executive officer of Tyler Corporation (NYSE: TYL), announced that Richard C. Barnett has been named president and chief executive officer of Tyler Pipe Industries. Effective Sept. 1, 1992, Barnett will replace Richard W. Margerison who, along with his responsibilities as executive vice president of Tyler Corporation, has served as interim president and chief executive officer of Tyler Pipe. Margerison will return full-time to corporate headquarters.
 Barnett joins Tyler Pipe from a 15-year affiliation with York International Corporation. Since moving to York in 1978, he has been vice president of the company and president of Central Environmental Systems which manufactures residential and light commercial air conditioning equipment. Prior to joining York, Barnett was associated with General Electric Company for 13 years. He began as a design engineer in Tyler, Texas before advancing into a series of management positions.
 Barnett graduated from high school in Dallas and holds a mechanical engineering degree from Southern Methodist University. He has served as a First Lieutenant in the U.S. Air Force and is a Registered Professional Engineer. Barnett is married and has two grown children.
 Tyler Corporation, with national headquarters in Dallas, provides cast iron pipe and fittings and automotive aftermarket parts.
